With a nod toward the winery's address – 254 St. Helena Highway – Cellar 254 is a combination artist's studio and state-of-the-art laboratory. It is here that we craft our greatest expression of Cabernet Sauvignon and other red wines from our most coveted vineyard blocks. Our flagship small lot wine, our Lot 1 Cabernet Sauvignon, comes from this exceptional micro-winery. Constructed in 2003, the Cellar 254 micro-winery fosters a hands-on, artisan approach to winemaking. Here, we keep individual vineyard blocks separate during fermentation to let each lot's individual terroir develop before we assemble a final blend. Our modern fermentation tanks optimize skin-to-juice ratio, which cultivates incredible tannin development and color extraction in the grapes. Cellar 254 allows us to make our wines by hand, in the passionate tradition that has guided the Martini family winemakers for three generations.
