Popcorn Carbonara, with its delightful mix of bacon and Parmesan cheese, is savory and succulent and makes a cheerfully unexpected complement to our Napa Valley Cabernet thanks to depth of flavor and pronounced spice. This is a great snack to have out on the table when guests arrive. This recipe can be executed with basically any variety of popcorn, microwave or stove top, just be sure to purchase the plain kind and do not add any butter or additional flavorings.

Ingredients:

1 package Store- bought plain popcorn

2 pounds Pancetta or bacon, cut into small dice

2 ½ cups Grated Parmesan cheese

1 tspn Onion powder

1 tspn Garlic powder To taste Black pepper

Directions:

Add the bacon to a large sauté pan and cook over medium heat until crispy. While the bacon cooks, cook the popcorn and leave in the bag to stay warm. Drain the bacon and set aside the drippings. Toss the popcorn with the crispy bacon, parmesan cheese, onion powder, garlic powder, and a copious amount of black pepper. Slowly drizzle in the bacon drippings and toss until well coated or as desired. Season with salt to taste.
