Cabernet Sauvignon Rosé

Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Rosé

/ 2017 750ml

2017 Vintage: Our Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Rosé is a crisp, refreshing wine with a slightly rounder style that shows it has Cabernet Sauvignon at its core. It wafts with aromas of fresh strawberry, watermelon and orange blossoms, and its light, bright mouthfeel is filled with echoes of cherry, strawberry and juicy watermelon. The balanced acidity and surprisingly long finish creates a lively wine ideal for warm days and evenings and one that matches a range of foods.

Winemaker notes:

The fruit was crushed into stainless steel tanks and remained in contact with the skins 12-24 hours before the juice was bled off. This saignée method—sometimes referred to as “bleeding the vats”—allowed extraction of just enough color and flavor to achieve a lively, light rose pink hue and a fruit-forward palate. The wine fermented slowly over two months at cold temperatures to preserve its bright fruit aromatics and characteristics and its crisp mouthfeel.

Viticulture notes:

The 2017 growing season was challenging but in the end delivered exceptional quality. A record wet winter extended into early spring, soaking the ground and providing vines with abundant water resources. A warm, sunny growing season kept our vineyard experts busy managing growth to allow the ideal light penetration and air-flow to the clusters. A late season heat spike helped create water stress which built flavor intensity in the berries. Overall, the weather swings—aided by deft vineyard management—balanced into a vintage with layers of concentrated fruit flavors, complex structure and vibrant, balanced acidity.
