Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Our 2012 Louis M. Martini Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon boasts a deep burgundy color and complex aromas of dark fruit, smoky cedar and dried herbs. Rich and broad in the mouth, our Napa Cabernet has an expansive mid-palate, silky tannins and sought-after balance. Finely etched flavors of black cherry and blackberry are framed by licorice and toast on the long finish.
Ideal conditions prevailed throughout the 2012 growing season in the Napa Valley, making for a vintage which many have characterized as classic. A timely bud break and steady flowering were followed by even fruit set and a lengthy season of warm days and cool nights. Dry weather during harvest made for excellent picking conditions, and grapes with optimal ripeness and balance were delivered to the winery. Layered complexity was the result of the addition of small amounts Petit Verdot and Petite Sirah, as well as maturation in a curated combination of French, American and Hungarian oak barrels.
