Monte Rosso Vertical Collection

Monte Rosso Vertical Collection

Sonoma Valley / Sonoma County

High in the Mayacamas Mountains, a thousand feet above the Sonoma Valley, basks the Monte Rosso Vineyard. Named for its iron-rich, red volcanic soils, Monte Rosso has produced grapes of unmistakable character for more than a century. Over 250 acres are planted with some of the oldest vines in California, including our 84-year-old Cabernet Sauvignon.

Since the blocks of old vines are not planted with heat-treated clones grafted on modern rootstocks, they’re challenging to care for, but they produce incredibly distinctive wines with character and layers of complexity rarely seen in wines today.

In addition to the unmistakable spice characteristics of which this terroir is renowned, notes of crème de cassis, warm plums, black cherry and macerated berries shine among the individual vintages.
