Monte Rosso Vertical Collection
Sonoma Valley / Sonoma County
High in the Mayacamas Mountains, a thousand feet above the Sonoma Valley, basks the Monte Rosso Vineyard. Named for its iron-rich, red volcanic soils, Monte Rosso has produced grapes of unmistakable character for more than a century. Over 250 acres are planted with some of the oldest vines in California, including our 84-year-old Cabernet Sauvignon.
Since the blocks of old vines are not planted with heat-treated clones grafted on modern rootstocks, they’re challenging to care for, but they produce incredibly distinctive wines with character and layers of complexity rarely seen in wines today.
